Considering a Non-Surgical Nose Job? Here’s Everything You Need To Know
A non-surgical nose job is a procedure many patients are not aware even exists! There are many benefits to this procedure that are attractive to potential patients. If a patient is not ready to make the financial commitment a surgery entails, the lower cost of a non-surgical approach may be enticing. In addition, if someone is not ready to undergo surgery and the downtime that follows, a non-surgical option may be their logical next step if they are indeed a candidate.
What Does the Process Look Like?
First, you will consult with Dr. Zuliani or Nicole to discuss your needs and options. Once determined that you are a candidate, the procedure itself should last about 15 minutes, and local anesthetic may be given at the injection site. Once you are comfortable, your injector will inject hyaluronic acid, dermal filler into multiple sites on the nose. Once the desired look has been achieved, ice will be applied to the area for comfort and to reduce swelling.
Recovery for this procedure should only last a few days. Your provider will walk you through the do’s and don’ts while you are in recovery phase, such as not touching your nose or wearing anything that rests on it. Since the effects are immediate, you should be able to see your results quickly and begin enjoying your new nose.
Determining If You Are a Candidate
At Zuliani Facial Aesthetics, we offer consultations to help you determine if you are a candidate for a non-surgical nose job. If you are looking for a total reconstruction of your nose, a non-surgical nose job is probably not right for you. Low-cost and low risk are the main two benefits of a non-surgical nose jobs. However, their biggest drawback is their inability to do full-scale nose reconstruction. The process is best used for small adjustments rather than large ones. There are some key attributes that may help you in determining whether this procedure is right for you.
Dorsal Hump
Patients with a prominent dorsal hump and deep radix, typically can benefit from having hyaluronic acid filler placed strategically in the radix above the hump and below the hump on the bridge of the nose to give a straighter profile, disguising the dorsal hump.
Nose Tip Refinement
With nose tip refinement, the filler is injected right at the tip of the nose to potentially create a more lifted appearance.
Correcting Past Surgery
Patients who have already underwent rhinoplasty surgery and have small areas of concern can in some cases be candidates for a non-surgical nose job. An experienced injector can make incremental corrections with fillers and without the need for an invasive procedure on the right candidate.
How Permanent Is the Procedure?
Typically, the effects last for one to one-and-a-half years. After this point, you may see your adjustment begin to fade at which point you may have the procedure repeated to regain your desired outcome.
How Painful Is the Process?
Numbing cream is provided prior to the procedure to help with any minimal discomfort. You may experience a small amount of acute redness and swelling in the area post injection, but this should be very minimal and short lasting. Ice may be applied to the area post treatment to aid in any discomfort. Mild bruising can also appear post procedure but will be short lasting and can be covered by makeup.
