Morpheus8

Highlights

Morpheus8 is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that pairs microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy. It uses tiny needles to deliver RF energy deep into your skin, creating micro injuries that trigger your body’s natural healing response and promote production of new collagen and elastin, to firm and remodel skin.

Who might benefit from Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 skin resurfacing can safely benefit all skin types and tones, addressing a broad range of skin concerns.

Given its stimulating effect on collagen production, the treatment excels at tightening and contouring mildly sagging skin, smoothing wrinkles, and minimizing other signs of aging.

Microneedling with radiofrequency energy is also particularly effective at improving the appearance of acne scars—though avoid it if you still have active acne, since the needles can spread breakout-causing bacteria.

The microneedling aspect of Morpheus8 helps resurface the top layer of skin, so people with sun damage and dark spots should see clearer, brighter, more evenly toned skin post-treatment.

Most notably, Morpheus8 is a safe option for people with dark skin, who might otherwise be at risk of hypo- or hyperpigmentation from other resurfacing treatments (like lasers). Your provider can choose a needle type that’s safest for your skin tone, from microneedles that emanate heat along their full length to coated microneedles that emanate heat only from their very tips, to precisely target the deeper layers of the skin without damaging the skin’s surface.

Areas of Treatment

The most commonly treated areas include the lower face and neck. Areas of the face and body that exhibit wrinkles, discoloration or acne scarring are suitable for treatment. Depending on your Morpheus8 treatment regime you can expect to have between 1-3 sessions.

How is Morpheus8 performed?

Microneedling uses needles to puncture the skin performing collagen-induction therapy because the repeated puncturing of the skin causes microtrauma that initiates a recovery cascade of collagen production in the skin.

Morpheus8 delivers electrical energy that causes coagulation in the tissues, meaning there is exfoliation and collagen remodeling, improving the texture and tone of the skin at the same time that it causes the skin to tighten. Both the dermis and epidermis (lower and upper layers of the skin) are affected, resulting in a combination of deeper remodeling and resurfacing.

What can I expect during the Morpheus8 Treatment?

The treatment takes 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the treated area. The provider begins by covering the treatment area with numbing cream, which may need up to an hour to take effect. If your provider plans to use a higher setting on the device, you may need local anesthesia. We also have PRO-NOX available for your comfort.

The provider will use the device in a stamping like motion across your skin, allowing the needles to puncture below the surface and deliver the radiofrequency energy.

You may feel pressure and dull discomfort during the procedure, but it’s typically not too painful, due to the numbing cream.

Why should I consider Morpheus8?

• Minimal downtime
• Results can take effect within just a few days
• Softens line and improves acne scarring
• Assist in building new collagen

How long does Morpheus8 last for?

The results of Morpheus8 can last up to one year. However, the exact duration of results may vary due to individual factors such as lifestyle and genetics.

Is Morpheus8 painful?

No, Morpheus8 treatments should not be painful. A topical numbing cream will be applied to the skin prior to treatment to ensure patient comfort. We recognize that all patients have a different comfort level so for an additional cost, you can also add ProNox to your treatment.

What is ProNox?

ProNox is a combination of 50% oxygen and 50% nitrous oxide that is inhaled during the procedure.
